DeepCrawl has become an essential tool for conducting technical SEO analysis and auditing websites. Users have found it immensely helpful in identifying and resolving technical issues on their websites, allowing them to optimize their site's performance and search engine rankings. Many users have utilized DeepCrawl as the foundation for their SEO engagements, using it to conduct comprehensive audits and gain insights into their website's ranking factors.

In addition to its use in large-scale audits, DeepCrawl has proven valuable for troubleshooting small issues or irregularities on websites. Its holistic approach to website auditing enables users to monitor various aspects of their site, including sitemaps, backlinks, and website downtimes. This comprehensive analysis provides valuable insights that require IT input to resolve, making DeepCrawl indispensable for digital marketing departments aiming to improve search engine performance and monitor website issues.

Overall, DeepCrawl's wide range of features and capabilities make it a versatile tool for SEO professionals, marketers, and website owners alike. Its ability to uncover technical issues, analyze website performance, and provide actionable recommendations ensures that users can address any obstacles preventing higher search engine rankings.

Exceptional GUI: Many users have praised DeepCrawl's graphical user interface, stating that it is exceptional. They appreciate the software's response during a crawl, as it provides easy-to-understand results. This sets DeepCrawl apart from other options that can often make it difficult to gain insights.

Proper insights and issue identification: Users find DeepCrawl helpful in identifying and categorizing issues found during a crawl. The software's ability to analyze JavaScript, search for thin content on pages, check for sufficient internal links, and detect hreflang issues has been particularly appreciated by reviewers. These features have helped users understand when and where any issues occurred on their websites.

Excellent Dashboard: Reviewers express satisfaction with DeepCrawl's primary Dashboard, describing it as excellent. The hierarchical breakdown of the site structure and focus on main issues without overwhelming the user with excessive information are highly valued. The Broken Links tab in the Dashboard is especially praised for its simplicity in identifying broken links and resolving site circulation issues. Additionally, the indexation tab eliminates the need to manually assess thousands of URLs in a spreadsheet, saving valuable time for users.

Difficult Site Navigation: Some users have found it challenging to navigate through different sections of the site and have expressed a desire for improved filtering options. Suggestions include enhancing the drill-down capabilities and implementing information tool tips to aid in understanding certain elements without relying on assistance from other team members.

Deceptive Loading Panel: Users have noted that the loading panel during a crawl can be misleading, as it does not provide an accurate estimate of how long the process will take. Some users feel that a more precise estimation would be beneficial, allowing them to plan their time more effectively.

Limited Optimization Suggestions: Several users have expressed a desire for more suggestions to guide their optimization efforts. They feel that additional recommendations would be helpful in identifying areas for improvement and maximizing the effectiveness of their optimization strategies.

Users have made several recommendations for DeepCrawl based on their experiences with the software. The most common recommendations are as follows:

  1. Users suggest opening up budgets and giving DeepCrawl a try to see if it can provide value for larger websites at the enterprise level.

  2. Users advise getting as much training as possible to fully understand and improve the results obtained from DeepCrawl.

  3. Users appreciate the level of detail provided by DeepCrawl's reports, which they believe is not found in other crawling tools. They recommend exploring these reports to gain valuable insights into website performance and optimization opportunities.

These recommendations highlight the usefulness of DeepCrawl for enterprise-level SEO, particularly for larger websites. Users emphasize the importance of proper training, allocating budgets, and taking advantage of the detailed reports to maximize the benefits of using DeepCrawl.

As a digital marketer, I have had past experience with this tool in a wide range of different roles. Typically we have used this tool to support with analysing websites, and supporting with any SEO activity that we have proposed to a client. This has particularly been useful to understand where a website is ranking, and if there are any issues as to why it may not be ranking higher.
  • Really good to understand when and where any issues are on the website
  • Helps full breakdowns for each website, to understand where to improve
  • Helps work out where content etc needs to be optimised, which can then be passed to the content team
  • As a non SEOer it would be useful to have information tool tips to help understand what a particular element means (without having to ask another member of the team)
It is useful for our clients to help identify where there are any issues and what improvements should be made. We are able to use all the counts of each elements to work out which to prioritise and create an action plan for our clients. If a team isn't able to implement any of the insights from within this tool, then it probably wouldn't be worth the money.

  • We have been able to improve rankings for our clients due to these insights, and get people onto the first page of Google
  • Helped us to prioritise and provide our clients with more insights
I feel like they're both pretty similar from my experience, as I have always used the same things. However, I do feel that deepcrawl is easier to use from a UX perspective and I found it easier to get around to find the elements as I required them.

I used DeepCrawl as a part of the Conductor integration. I used it to crawl areas of our site to search for SEO issues.
  • Categorizing issues found
  • Crawling Javascript
  • Difficult to drill down to site sections
  • Too much data - Filtering could be improved
DeepCrawl is great for agencies looking to crawl sites. Likely not a great fit for beginner SEOs as there are a lot of data points given without clear priority.

Deepcrawl is not to be used for scanning new opportunities, keyword positions, site wide metrics for large sites. No SERP data shown.

  • Helped us find meta title and description issues sitewide
Personally I prefer seoClarity's crawler and it's built into their all in one platform.

Deepcrawl has a nice interface though
I liked the platform overall. It is a good crawler. I no longer use because it's duplicate of what I get with seoClarity. I did not give it 10/10 because sometimes I had a hard time isolating site areas that I wanted and didn't get much technical support from Conductor on how to use the tool

I use DeepCrawl primarily to kick off SEO engagements. It's the foundation of my technical SEO audit, and I also use it on occasion to troubleshoot little issues or irregularities I see in current or potential clients, or even just for research. It's nice to get the feel for a site that is succeeding with a crawl.
  • The primary Dashboard is pretty excellent—not too much stuff to look at, just the main issues and a hierarchical breakdown of the site structure
  • I love the Broken Links tab—this is a super simple way to find what's broken so you can fix site circulation issues
  • The indexation tab is really nice too—no need to surf through thousands of URLs in a spreadsheet to assess the index
  • I find the loading panel during a crawl to be a bit deceptive. It's very hard to tell how long a crawl will take—a more accurate estimate would go a long way.
  • I love the "fetch time" tab in theory, but I have a hard time believing it—not that the figure they give is untrue, but I find it at wide variance with other tools. PageSpeedInsights will have a site looking disastrous and DeepCrawl will log it all fetching "quick". But perhaps page speed is just notoriously difficult to assess.
DeepCrawl is organized very well for a full technical audit of a site. The menu on the left side is very easy to navigate, and you don't have to surf around too much to get an idea of what is plaguing a site. For a larger audit, DeepCrawl rules. Smaller audits can be tricky if you just want to know one quick thing because the crawl time can be unpredictable and difficult to project.

  • The price of the tool compared to the amount of time it saves me is a staggering number.
  • With DeepCrawl I can leave no stone unturned, which helps establish Agency credibility with clients.
Screaming Frog is somewhat quicker, and I prefer it for issues I need to check up on immediately. But for larger analysis and full site architecture audits, DeepCrawl has a simpler interface and allows for deeper insights without needing to dig around. I appreciate all the quick widget exports you can do in DeepCrawl as well. Every little bit helps!

DeepCrawl makes my SEO audit easy. The visual output gives me an easy way forward, whether it be technical, or content based.
  • GUI, when you run a crawl, the response is epic. It isn't just results, the results are very easy to understand.
  • Again, as pertaining to the explanation above. If you use other crawl software, it can be difficult to get insights, whereas DeepCrawl makes it easy. You can get proper insights.
  • It is so easy to put your stamp on things. DeepCrawl gives you an option as a consultant that you might not have had before, it is your backup.
  • DeepCrawl really doesn't have too many problems, to be honest.
  • I would only say that there is a pay per use issue, it is quite expensive. But if I am honest, it is worth every penny.
If you are an SEO executive, or an SEO consultant, I cannot offer an example where DeepCrawl cannot be used. It is easy to use, the results that DeepCrawl gives you, not only give you insight but can affect the way that your digital projects move forward.

  • When you have a URL and you want to understand how it is going to work on a point of view, I don't think that there is a better bit of kit, that will give you a first view.
  • The whole idea that you need to be technically proficient is blown away by DeepCrawl. It makes it easy to understand the pros and cons of your website.
  • The good thing about this product, is that they tell you how to fix your site, it is not just a 'here is your issue' it is a how you can fix your issue.
All of the products I have used have been amazing in their own way, but DeepCrawl makes it easier to put it into visuals. Sometimes when you look at results, it can be quite difficult to get something easy to understand. DeepCrawl gets rid of that, the results are so easy to comprehend. I would recommend it to any data consultant (DC).
